Thalassophile; a person who has a deep love and affinity for the sea or ocean.

Rosie Robinson Coastal Photographer

For a thalassophile, the sea is more than just a place, it’s a state of mind, a lifestyle, and a constant companion.

The word “thalassophile” comes from the Greek words thálassa, which means “sea”, and phile, which comes from Latin (phila) and Greek (phílos), meaning “lover”. In Greek mythology, Thalassa was the primeval goddess and spirit of the sea

Hi, I’m Rosie, a coastal photographer, artist and thalassophile.

I record the constantly changing shapes and spaces of our beaches. The infinite openess and mind-expanding possibilities.

I’d love for you to join me on instagram
